The Easy Physio online service has been created to help people with low back pain. As low back pain is so frequent in the population, as high as 84%, many people need help and guidance via an exercise plan/access to experts to support them regain confidence and return to an active lifestyle. The Easy Physio online service is a blended approach where each individual will receive a personalised exercise plan, along with the opportunity to discuss any questions with one of our experts.
The majority of low back pain (joint and muscle) is categorised as non-specific low back pain. The evidence is clear and consistent that a personalised exercise plan, along with general activity and a healthy lifestyle will all help to reduce low back pain.
The Easy Physio online service has been developed for people with low back pain (non-specific low back pain).
The Easy Physio online service has been developed alongside the current evidence surrounding treatment for non-specific low back pain. The questionnaire and online assessment (algorithms) create a personalised Back Health Score to generate a tailored exercise plan. The exercise plan consists of motor control exercises leading to more strength-based exercises, which have been shown to help with activity of daily life (ADL’s).
The Easy Physio online assessment is in two parts. Part 1 is a questionnaire, which helps to screen and to identify and potential red flags (red flags would indicate a referral to your doctor). Part 2 is a video-based practical assessment, which assesses different components (mobility, pain on movement, strength-endurance, motor-control). From completing the practical assessment, you will receive a Back-Health Score.
The questionnaire has been designed to capture/ signpost any individual that may need more face-to-face treatment/contact. If you are unsure, you can contact us on
info@easyphysio.comThe Easy Physio questionnaire takes only 2 minutes to complete. The Easy Physio video-based practical assessment takes approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. We suggest that you wear comfortable clothing when completing the practical assessment.
The Easy Physio questionnaire and practical assessment are both created from working practitioners that treat low back pain daily in their clinics. The individual elements that make up the practical assessment are well recognised and are used by all types of medical practitioners.
From completing the practical assessment your results will be represented from a score of 1 – 5, with 1 being poor/low and 5 being optimal/high. Your Back-Health Score is an average of all these individual scores (still scored from 1 – 5). As non-specific low back pain is multifactorial, your Back-Health Score represents a holistic overview, which is also used to monitor your progress as you re-assess throughout the programme.
The exercises are aligned with an evidence-based approach, starting with mobility/motor control progressing to strength-based exercises. Each exercise is video based with clear instructions on form and technique.
We use a VAS score of 1-10. We suggest that your exercises are kept below 5 out of 10. You will able to view and download your VAS score once you start your programme.
If you do not like an exercise or it feels that it is above 5 on the VAS score, we can modify your programme. Simply, leave that exercise out of your programme or call an expert to discuss. Our expert can modify your programme remotely.
To help with low back pain frequency and adherence are key. Your personalised exercise plan will be designed for you over 4-weeks. After 4 weeks, you can reassess using the practical assessment to monitor your progress and receive your next 4-week training plan.
